Established in 1936, Corbett Wildlife Preserve is one of India's oldest national park. This park was originally known as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered Bengal tiger. Over the years, the park has gone through several name changes like in 1954-54 it was renamed as Ramganga National Park. and then again renamed as Corbett National Park in 1955-56. The park also takes pride in being one of the thirteen protected areas covered by the World Wide Fund For Nature.
