Garjiya Devi Temple |
Garjiya Devi Temple is yet one of the famous temple located near Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. This temple is named after Goddess Parvati (daughter of the king of mountains). Actually, this temple has an ancient story for its establishment, so let me tell you that story:
Once upon a time, a saint was living at the place where this temple is built. The saint had a nightmare that a flow of mud along with water will come to that place and will destroy that place so he had to stop that flow of mud. The next day the nightmare of the saint comes to be true as that area was hitted with the flood and with the flow of water a huge mountain of clay and mud was constantly getting gathered in one place. So the Saint focuses on his meditation to stop that mountain in one place. Since then, the mountain is standing 100 meters tall there only where peoples build sculptures of idols and that mountain is later to be known as Garjiya Devi Temple.

The Garjiya Temple has the way through a bridge that connects the two sides of the temple as you can see in the picture. You can experience the view of the Kosi river and the locals who are just enjoying the cool breeze. This temple is 150 years old. Being an ancient temple it is a hotspot for devotees and attraction for many.
